Sean Bridegam, Global Risk Manager for the Office for Global Engagement, joined the University of Utah in December of 2015. Sean has worked in the international risk and safety field for over 8 years, and brings experience and expertise in risk prevention, mitigation, emergency preparedness and response. Prior to his arrival at the U, Sean worked to develop and support international risk and safety programming for students at the University of Texas at Austin.
Sean collaborates with faculty and staff at the University of Utah to strengthen health and safety support and resources available to students travelling abroad. He also assists in the development of policies, procedures, and best practices relating to faculty, staff and student international travel. Sean works to review and assess University travel to high-risk destinations, and serves as a 24-hour first responder and crisis manager for international emergencies.
Sean enjoys helping student travelers understand how to prepare themselves for safe experiences abroad, as well as assisting faculty and staff in international program development. He lived and worked in Central America from 2005-2013, and has a background in business and international travel management. Sean enjoys visiting the breathtaking wilderness areas of Utah, and spends his free time traveling, hiking, camping and cooking with his family.
