The University of Utah Learning Abroad Office's first outdoor Fall Fair Thursday, September 21 garnered great attention. Nearly 300 students stopped by to learn about the myriad international study options available at the U.
On display were 32 programs, including faculty-led fan favorites like Wilderness Medicine in the Alps, Global Public Health research opportunities, and the London Seminar in Literature & Culture, along with new offerings like Film at the Université Côte d'Azur in France.
From the U Asia Campus and Hinckely Global Internships to Honors integrated minors and Eccles Global, the the University of Utah is paving multiple international pathways for students. Add multiple affiliate and exchange programs to the mix, and there is a U Learning Abroad opportunity for everyone.
The Learning Abroad Scholarships staff was also on-hand at the Fall Fair, reminding students that funding is available to support their dream of taking their education abroad. Many deadlines are just around the bend, so interested students should apply now.
"This was our first time hosting the Fall Fair outside, and the setting allowed for a really relaxed, happy atmosphere. The rain held out long enough for us to connect with many students and talk about the fantastic opportunities available to them," said Rick Batchelor, Interim Director for Learning Abroad.
"Everyone grab your puffy jackets for an outdoor Spring Fair in January," Batchelor joked. The next Learning Abroad Fair will be held in the warm and dry Union Ballroom. Follow @utahabroad for event details.
